Pregnancy and osteopathy

Our osteopaths are experienced in treating pregnant mothers throughout all stages of pregnancy and postpartum.

Common presenting complaints are:

  • Low back pain (with or without sciatic symptoms).

  • Pelvic or sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain.

  • Mid back or rib pain.

  • Leg cramping or restless leg syndrome.

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome.

  • Headaches.

  • Birth preparation and balancing.

Our approach which uses dry needling, massage, joint mobilisation and muscle energy and manipulation techniques, osteopathic treatment is perfectly safe during all stages of pregnancy for both mother and baby.

During pregnancy, there is an increased load and adaptation process. We aim to help you accommodate to these changes throughout pregnancy and postpartum. We also aim to optimise space and positioning of the baby for labour. Postpartum, we aim to assist in rebalancing the postpartum body by easing the associated aches and pain.

We recommend regular appointments throughout your pregnancy to keep your aches and pains at bay.
